Azerbaijan is presenting its community-based winemaking traditions at the “Slow Wine” Fair in Bologna, Italy.

For the second time, Azerbaijan is participating in this prestigious exhibition, promoting its gastronomic and enotourism potential while introducing visitors to nationally produced wines and biodiversity-driven products through wine tastings.

Representing the country at the fair are community-based wines, including the "Khindogny" wines, crafted from the indigenous Khindogny grape variety, harvested in the village of Tuğ (Tugh) in the Khojavend region, which aligns with the Slow Wine production philosophy.

The event, running until February 25, is expected to gather over 1,000 winemakers and vineyard representatives, along with more than 10,000 visitors.

As part of the Slow Food movement, Slow Wine promotes the preservation of cultural and biological diversity, focusing on the unique characteristics of each wine region, reducing environmental impact, and advocating for sustainable production and agroecological practices.
